Personal user profiles can also be created with the software update for the Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron . Another new feature is that a route planned with the e-tron route planner on the myAudi app can be sent to the Q4 e-tron . Navigation data such as the last destinations are saved. The location of the vehicle can also be localized using the myAudi app and various status reports can be queried. In the event of breakdowns or minor accidents, the online breakdown call including Audi damage service will be available in future.
Improved charging performance at home and on the go
The software update also offers added value when charging at home or on the go. The “Preferred charging time” function helps to benefit from a variable electricity tariff at low-cost times, for example at night. This can be used to set a defined loading window. Charging with alternating current (AC) is now even more convenient using a timer in the vehicle and via the myAudi app. With preconditioning using a departure timer, the energy required to cool the interior in winter is supplied to the vehicle when charging via an external energy source – such as a home wall box or a public charging station.
The new software also optimizes consumption thanks to revised thermal management, which conditions the battery taking into account the outside temperature and the state of charge. Compared to software version 2.3, improved charging power control enables an increased DC charging power of up to 135 kW 1 . In addition, the so-called battery protection function is available on request, which automatically limits the charge level to 80 percent and thus keeps the battery in the ideal state of charge.
The update, together with a charging contract from the Audi charging service, will also enable the Plug & Charge function. At compatible charging stations, the vehicle authorizes itself when the charging cable is plugged in and activates the station. Billing is fully automatic.
The Audi Q4 e-tron – now even more personal
Thanks to the Audi theme worlds, customers can customize the look of the interior of the Q4 e-tron according to their preferences in just a few steps in the myAudi app. This can be used to personalize the ambient lighting in the vehicle and the background images on the central center display. With the integration of Amazon’s Alexa 2 voice service , as part of the Audi connect navigation and infotainment plus package, music can be played and news can be tracked, among other things.
Audi partners provide vehicle-specific information
All Q4 e-tron from model year 2023 also have the Plug & Charge function and the option of receiving software updates via a wireless over-the-air interface. All owners of a Q4 e-tron that are not yet equipped with the new software for the 2023 model year will be individually informed by their Audi dealer about the further procedure for installing updates. In order to avoid waiting times, the software updates are installed by region and in several waves.
