Bolivia’s banking sector is largely composed of commercial banks, which play a vital role in the country’s economic life. The Central Bank of Bolivia regulates and supervises this system which consists of around 18 commercial banks that offer various services like deposit accounts, loans, credit cards and foreign exchange transactions.

Some of Bolivia’s top commercial banks include Banco de Credito de Bolivia, Banco Nacional de Bolivia, Banco Mercantil Santa Cruz and Banco Ganadero. With extensive branch networks and ATMs scattered around the country, these institutions make banking services easily accessible for a majority of Bolivians.
