MHEC Selects Dell Apex To Drive Digital Experiences In Higher Education

Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) selects Dell Technologies to deliver a platform, including the Dell APEX portfolio of as-a-Service solutions, that helps the organization offer new cost-saving initiatives for higher education institutions and support better digital experiences for faculty and students. With APEX and as-a-Service solutions, MHEC IT departments can advance the educational and research missions of their higher education institutions, as well as K-12 school districts, state and local governments and non-profit organizations.

MHEC reduces costs, conducts research and provides policy guidance to colleges and universities throughout the Midwest. The expanded agreement with Dell provides access to a wide range of Dell PCs, infrastructure, services, software and APEX solutions.

“Higher education institutions are under pressure to modernize their IT infrastructures that supports new technologies for in-person or remote learning and working that were rarely imagined before the pandemic,” said Susan Heegaard, president of MHEC. “Dell’s portfolio, from PCs and peripherals to data center and security solutions, helps our member states in the Midwest and across the country advance their educational objectives and outcomes.”

The addition of APEX means MHEC entities can simplify digital transformation by increasing IT agility and control. Using APEX solutions, organizations can focus less on infrastructure management and more on running their business and accelerating innovation. These new capabilities allow IT operations to minimize risk and maximize resources.

APEX is designed to improve overall operational efficiency, helping MHEC member institutions simplify complex IT management tasks, allowing staff to shift work to strategic activities while meeting budgetary requirements by only paying for what they use.

“As educators and students shift to blended learning environments, we’re working to provide our customers with innovative solutions that create reliable, safe and scalable IT infrastructure that fits organizations’ budgets,” said Leslie Harlien, vice president of Public Business Development and Strategy, Dell Technologies. “Over the last two years, colleges and universities led the largest education transformation in decades, overcoming unprecedented technical challenges. The addition of Dell APEX to MHEC’s catalog will provide a smooth transition and scalable infrastructure as technology continues to transpire.”
